Who are the AMS?

The Alternative Music Society mainly focuses on bringing together people with a shared interest in music; and however alternative it is we aim to cover it. We run the highly successful Subculture nights in the Academy at Anglia Ruskin University, and between us play a mix of DJ sets, with the aim to put on live bands later on in the year. If you are a fan of alternative music then this is the society for you.

Meet the Alternative Music Society Commitee…

 

 

President:

Name: Andy Mizen
Andy Joined the AMS in year 2008-2009, Andy started off as the treasurer. At the start of year 2009-2010 he was ellected President of the AMS and has been managing it ever since.

 

 

PR.:

Name: Alice Johnson  
Alice joined the AMS in year 2008-2009 as the Secretary. Then in year 2009-2010 she was ellected AMS PR person. Alice is in charge of contacting papers, radio stations and other outside sources. As a side role Alice is also the Promotions co-ordinator, where she organises the 4 promotions officers.

 

 

Secretary:

Name: Fran Wright  
Fran joined the AMS in 2009-2010. She is in charge of taking minuites in the meetings, co-ordinating communications throuought the AMS and arranging meetings.

  

 

Treasurer:

Name: James Hoedemaker    
James joined the AMS in 2009-2010 as the Treasurer. He is in charge of all finacial managment and transactions for the AMS.

 

 

Social Captain:

Name: Jack Pottle  
Jack joined the AMS in 2009-2010. He is in charge of arranging ond organising social events for the AMS, from visiting gigs, to club nights and pub crawls.

 

 

Tech Admin:

Name: Dan Taylor  
Dan joined the AMS in 2009-2010. He is in charge of all technical and electrical sides of the AMS, for presentations in meetings, to the sound equipment on the Subculture nights.

 

 

Art Co-ordinator:

Name: Kate Lowenthal-Bell
Kate joined the AMS in 2009-2010. She is in charge of creating and collecting artwork for AMS promotions and website use.
